SEPTEMBER 26, 2017

What's up fam.

I just left my second area, Atalaya (Watchman) yesterday and I got sent to Bucaramanaga, La Cumbre (The Crest).

So my area is in a place called Floridablanca, which is one half of the city Bucaramanga. In the ward, my companion is. . .

Élder Heredia, he is from Ecuador. He is 18, and turns 19 next preparation day, which will be Monday.

So my Ward is basically a big mountain from what I hear, and it's super ghetto.  I am the District Leader again, of the Zone Leaders, and some dudes opening area, including Élder Skinner from Lee's Summit, MO -- back home.  It's going to be a really fun time. The whole district is pretty down right now, but before we finish the transfer we are going to get bumping here.

So my last week in Atalaya was pretty dope. I had two Baptismal Interviews, and then I took a ton of pictures in the Chapel, and I had two cool experiences, as I was going to Bucaramanga.

So the first experience is we got down about halfway through the journey, and I walked over to a ledge to take some pictures, since the view was pretty scenic. A dude came up to me and told me to give him a high five. I got sketched out at first and I asked him if he knows me. He said, yeah, I'm a member.  So I started talking to him. He works out in the boonies during the week, and goes back to Venezuela every weekend to go to church.

Then, when we got to Bucaramanga, we waited in the bus terminal and did an all- nighter waiting for other Elders to arrive. We were just bored out of our minds there, and another guy came up to us, and did the same thing. He also was a member, and he invited us to breakfast. We ate with him, and it turns out he was on the point of going less active, but I got his digits (phone number) and I sent them to the missionaries of his city.

This week I testify of Christlike attributes. Something that made Christ the best leader, was that He never varied in His ways. They were established upon immovable precepts, and so He was always firm in His decisions. And so I was trying to think of how I can do that here in La Cumbre.
In my last transfers as District Leader, I learned that it works best when you just help your dudes out. So that is my goal. Like the golden rule, do what you want others to do unto you.
